Etude House Fantastic Color Eyes Rose Garden Eyeshadow Palette Review

I have mostly brown, neutral eyeshadows. When I saw that Etude House has released two limited spring eyeshadow palettes with vivid pink and coral colors I knew I had to get one before they got sold out.

They have two different palettes; Rose garden and Cherry blossom. I wanted both, but went for Rose garden at the end because the colours are warmer and it would suit my warm skintone better. But the Cherry blossom palette is too pretty to be passed onT.T Maybe I'll buy it later >.<
The prize is good for a palette of six colours.

The size of the palette:
It's actually small in size and lightweight, which makes it easy take it with you. The case is made of plastic and has mirror inside. The thing I like about Etude House is that their products have girly and cute designs*.*
The name of the six shades. All the colours looks nice. Hard to choose one favourite, but I decided to get this palette instead of the Cherry blossom palette is because of the shade Juliette, Vintage rose and Handtied.

Taken in daylight:
Juliette is a light, shimmery pink shade that I will use for highlights, on it's own or as a base.
Honey Bouquet is quite shimmery compared to the other colours.

Handtied, Vintage Rose and My girl are the colours I'm very excited to try! I have never used red/pink eyeshadow before because I tend to go for the neutral look. But it's always nice to try something new.

I am quite satisfied with this palette. Finally I have an eyeshadow palette with other colours than just brown:P It's perfect for spring and summer.

My Winter Skincare Routine

Lately I have been obsessed with skincare and makeup. Bought too much that I want to try:-X
I think it's because of winter. I have combination skin that leans slightly on the dry side. My skin tends to get drier in winter and it's a bad combination with foundationT.T I also get blemishes so I have been searching for a good coverage foundation, but they tend to dry my skin. I also have been going crazy searching for a nice moisturiser to counterattack that. Let's see how it went...

After hauling a bit of skincare and makeup especially in dec-january, I decided to make this post to keep track of my skincare routine. I have used the products mentioned in this post for over 1 month and I like them.

Moisture regime
After cleansing I like to use the Hada Labo lotion. Have used this for almost 3 years now and it's still going strong. It's very lightweight and moisturising. But it's not enough for the winter, so I now have also incorporated the Green tea cream from Origins to my moisture routine. It feels kind of heavy and oily when I put it on, but fortunately it sinks into the skin fast. Leaves a lightweight, non-greasy feeling after it's absorbed.

Skincare regime
I usually don't use body lotion, too lazy xD But I think it's good to also take care of the body.
I'm currently switch-use between Origins green tea body lotion and the Shea body lotion from the Body shop. Both of these are moisturising and smells nice! Love to lay in bed with soothing shea scent.

Cleansing regime
I always make sure to take off my makeup. I think this is a most important part of skincare. When the pores are clogged with makeup, you won't get nice skin no matter how expensive or goodworking product you use because it can't absorb it. I use a triple cleanse routine to make sure to remove all makeup once for all. I always begin with using cleansing wipes to take off ''heavy'' makeup e.g. foundation, eyemakeup. I use the Clinique take-the-day-off remover for eyemakeup.
After that I use my go to foundation-remover, the Mac cleanse off oil and massage it gently all over the face, except the eye area. I find it non-drying and effective. Afterwards I use a gentle but good foam cleanser (I forgot to take it with me in the photo).

Latest addition in my makeup pouch:
The famous Anastasia contour kit! Got inspired by contouring videos on Youtube. I have seen many good contouring, they look like another person:-O I wanted to see if I could change my face too haha:P Unfortunately, I'm just an makeup amateurxD Nonetheless, I think contouring is fun, especially the slimming the face line and highlighting part. It definitely makes a difference. A short review of this palette will be up soon but I recommend to try it if you are into contouring.

My current perfumes:
Used alot of these two this winter. The D&G smells so good! The Juicy couture was a Christmas present. It has a sweet, playful scent.

That's my winter skincare routine. I hope it's not alot of products I usexD But these are my long-time favourites. Tell me what you think and what are your favourite products?

Beauty Favourites in the Past and This month

I want to start to post monthly beauty and health favourites, because I love trying new pampering products and think it's ok to document their effects and remind me about what I focused mostly on in the different months. This month I have bath, handcream and lip products craze. Guess it's because of the cold weather. The hands tend to get dry and I like taking warm baths when coming home from the cold outside. Here we go:

Favourite hand creams:

Crabtree & Evelyn
I was so lucky to get this set with 6 x hand creams on sale! I wanted to try their hand creams for a long time, but they were kind of expensive. Now I can't get enough of it. Their nice smelling, moisturising and non-greasy. My favourite is Gardeners Hand therapy, Avocado and La Source. Because their scent is so nice!

For Lips:
Lip balms from CanMake
Nice design, moisturising and sheer effect. My favourite type^^

 Dior Lip Glow
Moisturising, cute light pink colored lip balm. Hygienic and nice to look at. Review coming up later.

Favourite for bath:

Shower Gels from I Love...
I love nice smelling body care products. This cute set with 6 different scents makes it easy to choose the one I want to use according to my mood. Their my favourite because their scent lingers on after getting out of the shower, it's like mild perfume^^

I Must Stop...

I don't know what's up with me, but lately I have gone crazy shopping asian cosmetics from Ebay-.- It's always like that when I get my paycheck. I remember when I was in high school, I didn't cared for makeup and couldn't understand why my friends needed to buy more than 10 different shades of red lipsticks or nail polishes when they didn't even got to use all of it. Honestly, I never cared for cosmetics...until now recently haha...

I suddenly have a kind of understanding of why some girls must have a big collection of lipsticks, foundations and nail polishes in all kind of colours. I'm guilty of this. I think it's because of colours. When I see a nice shade of colour, either in lipgloss or blush, I know I must have it. Difficult to resist. It's worst now, when winter is slowly passing and new spring collections with cute, lively colours is showing up.
19 lipsticks/tints/gloss totally this month...I have never bought that much lipsticks and lip products as I did this month. Really have to control myself, if not, my wallet is going to suffer-.-

Some of the hauls...

Works for everyone...except me?!

This is a classical situation I think most of us have experienced-.-
Reading all the awesome raves about a product, and then when you try it yourself, the result isn't as near as what the others claim. Dissapointed=( you throw it away and decides that you'll never listen to those reviews again...until next time the same things happens, again.

See a new product + some good reviews = want to try it ASAP! and gets dissappointed (again)...(anyone recognise?) Although, this is not always the case, because I have found some great products that I didn't even knew about, until I read some beautyblogs.

However, I think it's worst for one who is suffering of acne, because you desperately want to get rid of them, and wherever you have heard that a product works, you try it immediately.

I was like that too before, spending so much money on products without a glimpse of being critical to marketing words and reviews. Fortunately, I'm not like this anymore! I have found out that some products may work great for others but not me, is not because they hate me. It's because each of us have different skin type. Although you might have a friend with the same type of skin like you, e.g. oily-skin it doesn't mean that you may copy her regimen without being a hint of critical. Some of us may have skin that is sensitive to a certain type of ingredients/chemical. I had a friend who tried Benzoyl Peroxid, and the next day her face was all red and bloated. The doctor said that it' was too strong for her skin, so she stopped using it. However, BP works great for others.

Here are some tips and advices which might be helpful, and yes, I do follow these myself;)

- I think the main clue is to find out what your skin like and what it hates.
One way to find out is by testing out different products. Another way is do some research and find out ingredients that most people may react on, e.g bismuth oxychloride.

- Don't have very high expectations for a product, because the chances are that you're going to be very dissappointed if it turns out that it didn't work. Low expectations = low dissapointments=)

- Read some reviews and do some research online, books, magazines before deciding for trying a product, especially if it's very expensive!
I find Makeupalley and beautyblogs a great help when I'm uncertain or want to know more about a beautyitem.

-If you find a product which doesn't work for you, try to find out if it's because you are sensitive to some of its ingredients, because sometimes the chemicals in the product reacts with your normal skin flora.

- Sometimes, you have to use it for at least one month to see some results.

- Don't try too much different products at once. Let the skin rest.

And that's all for now. Sorry for my broken english>.<

Vichy - Normaderm Anti Imperfection moisturiser

Bought me another one of this perfect moisturiser for my break-out pro skin^^ I have used this for almost 2 years now, and I'm very pleased with it! Before that, I used to use Olay moisturiser lotion/fluid for sensitive skin but I started to hate it because it felt oily and sticky on my skin=S
Later, I found out that the Olay moisturiser contains mineral oil, which may block pores and I think that's what caused my breakouts-.- After knowing that, I went for moisturiser-hunt=P, and I don't remember exact why I fell for Vichy Anti Imperfection moisturiser o.O (but I'm glad I didxP) I just remembered that I wanted to try something from a drugstore because their products may be more reliablexP Hello, drugstore > supermarket...

After one week using this, my skin felt and looked better=D Less imperfections and it didn't felt sticky when I draged my fingers across my face...after one month I had fewer breakouts and it doesn't seem my skin got irritated by the moisturiser, which was a good sign^^ because the moisturiser contains salicylic acid and other active ingredients. The good thing is that the active ingredients is fighthing against clogged pores, shine, imperfections and irregular texture according to the package...and for me, it feels like it=)

The review;-) :

Finish:
It says: ''Long lasting matte finish, 24 Hr hydration'',
Matte, doesn't feel like you are wearing any moisturiser at all because of the non-sticky feeling, and I like it^^Feels light on the skin. That's one of the reason why I think it is good for break-out pro skin, because the nonsticky finish makes it harder for dust, pollution and dead skin cells to stick onto the pores and clog it, which leads to breakouts=(

Coverage:
You can build up the coverage by adding more or less of the cream...but I don't think that is a good idea because the cream sinks into the skin fast. Therefore, if you want to add more moisturiser, do it before it dries out on the skin to get the best result;)

Moisturising power:
Ok for my skin, but it may be drying for you if your skin tends to lean towards dry skin. It's great for oily skin because of its matte-finish...but people with dry skin may have some problem with this moisturiser=S If you usually use foundation/mineral powder over your moisturiser, I think it's smart to add a moisturising base like: Kanebo Sensai Smoothing Water base, to your make-up routine, because from my and my friends experience, this moisturiser isn't good buddies with the foundation sisters. It may causes the skin to look flaky if they are combined togheter=S

The scent:
Smells like drugs/medicinal, hard to explain=P...but I don't mind the smell^^

Finish: 5/5
Consistent: 5/5
Coverage: 4/5
Moisturising: 4/5
Price: £ 22.9
Overall: 4/5

I have used this for 2 years now, and I think it's a great moisturiser...although it may feel somehow drier in the winter.

Maybelline Pure Mineral Powder

Time for some review=D Decided to start with my favourite foundation;
Maybelline Pure Mineral Powder foundation.

It doesn't feel heavy on my skin, and I love that the finish is natural looking^^ Thumbs up for finally finding a shade that matches my skin after some trialxD It comes with a small Kabuki brush^^

Finish:
Some of my friend didn't even know that I had the foundation onxD And when I pointed it out, she was like: ''Oh, it looks natural=O'' You can see it only if they are like, very very close to youo.O

Coverage:
You can build up the coverage by adding more or less powder. And it helps to reduce the redness on your face (if you have any). But be careful not to put too much on and it's important to moisturize well before putting it on because it is powder...and the powder may ''suck'' out the moisture from your skin.

The brush:
Not that good=/ Very stiff. Better to buy yourself a good one.

Finish: 5/5
Consistent: 5/5
Coverage: 4/5
Brush: 2/5
Price: £16
Overall: 4/5

I have tried liquid foundation and BB-cream. Neither of them worked out for me...the liquid foundation made my skin cakey-looking and the BB-cream irritated my skin. As for the BB-cream, I just didn't had luck to try a well-known brand and that might be the reason for it being irritating on my skin...but if I get the chance to try some of the korean brand BB-creams, I think they may be quite good for me too^^ But for now, I'm going to hold on to this because it's a pain to find one matching my skin + without looking flakey on my skin.
